Single-Storey Only: It must be single-storey in nature.
Height Limitations: A garage built within 2 metres of your property boundary must be at most 2.5 metres high. For garages constructed more than 2 metres from a boundary, the eaves height must not exceed 2.5 metres. The overall height limit for a dual-pitched roof is 4 metres or 3 metres for other roof types.
No Raised Platforms: Your timber carport must not feature any verandas, balconies, or raised platforms that exceed 0.3 metres in height.
Size Limitations: The carport must not occupy more than 50% of the land around the original property.

By meeting these criteria, your oak garage can be constructed without requiring planning permission, allowing for a quicker and more affordable build.
