Replacement hardwood conservatory on a Listed Property

Our new conservatory was a replacement of a tired and leaky one that had long ceased to be pleasure in which to spend any time. We approached various companies - Hallmark Glazed Extensions responded promptly and gave lots of initial advice; the final design took account of our ideas.

We appreciated the way in which planning approval was handled for our listed building in a Conservation Area. Though staged advance payments are required there is indemnity cover to provide reassurance should anything go awry with the installing company.

We were very impressed with the installation team. They had to cope with sometimes dreadful weather, yet managed to ensure the quality of the installation wasn’t compromised. Mark, the lead installer, was a model of calm patience. We’re pleased with the outcome, which achieved exactly what we wanted.

The auto vents are essential (we had to arrange our own electrician to make the connections), as are the blinds that we subsequently had fitted - the high quality glazing deals pretty well with heat management but we found the glare from the sun just too much during cloudless days. If, like us, your conservatory is likely to be a sun trap, then do budget for decent blinds (We went for powered Luxaflex ones which have proved an ideal complement to our Hallmark conservatory).
