Why Is uPVC Sustainable?
Although uPVC is a type of plastic, used responsibly uPVC is one of the most sustainable construction materials due to vast recycling advancements.
It is a strong and lightweight structure that can be melted down and reused multiple times without any reduction in quality or strength, hence why we will use it in many of our uPVC conservatory builds.
uPVC (Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride) differs from standard PVC in that it is far more rigid, making it ideal for the construction of extensions such as conservatories. PVC is flexible since it has softening plasticisers in it, which is more useful for things such as pipes, fencing, and cables.
Why Is Aluminium Sustainable?
Aluminium, similar to uPVC is one of the most sustainable building materials. It is highly recycled and retains its quality after being turned into a new product. Recycling aluminium also results in using just 5% of the energy it would take to produce aluminium from scratch.
Aluminium is a lightweight, strong and very durable material. It is also highly resistant to rust and corrosion making it a perfect material to incorporate in our glazed extension projects.
Why Is Glass Sustainable?
Glass is mainly made from sand, soda ash, and limestone which are vastly available material sources. Glass can be recycled easily by being melted down and turned into a new product, making it a very sustainable material to use in any glass conservatory, orangery, or garden room.
Here at Hallmark, we use high specification social control double glazing which helps keep the heat out in those hot summer days and retains heat in the winter. This in turn means you will be spending less on your energy bills and using air-con a lot less regularly.
