How much does a conservatory cost?

With the summer almost here, connecting to our outdoor space on a beautiful summer's day becomes increasingly important. We don’t want to waste the opportunity of making the most of a gorgeous sunny day! Having a light-filled glazed conservatory is a fabulous way of connecting your indoor and outdoor spaces.

If you are considering adding a conservatory to your home, the first question you will most likely ask is how much conservatories cost?

Conservatories can range in price, and the cost will depend on various factors, including the design, materials used, the glazing type and the overall size.

Begin your conservatory journey by exploring the different types of conservatories to discover what suits your budget and your personal requirements.

Types of conservatory

At Hallmark, our team of experienced designers have been creating bespoke conservatories for over 30 years. We design each conservatory to suit your individual requirements and your budget.

A combination of gables, hipped and lean-to roofs, make it possible to create almost any L-shaped, T-shaped or P-shaped conservatory design in either PVC, aluminium or painted hardwood, meaning we can tailor a conservatory design to fit within your budget.

To give an idea of costs, our seasoned oak or painted hardwood extensions are in the region of £4,500 per metre squared including VAT, with Aluminium at £3,800 and uPVC at £3,000. Our pricing includes all associated building work and specialist planning or building regs fees.

Traditional vs Modern Conservatory - How Will You Design Yours?

Traditional vs Modern Conservatory

Are you looking to increase the space at your property with either a traditional or modern conservatory (or orangery), but are you still deciding which one to choose?

Size of a conservatory

The size of the conservatory will affect the overall price. Therefore, the larger the conservatory, the more it will cost, as it will require more materials, more time to design, and more time to construct.

Don’t think bigger is best! Small conservatories can be deceptive, as having a gable roof can make the smallest conservatory look 50% larger.

Glazing

All our Hallmark conservatories have the highest specification solar control glass. Details such as manual or electronic openings will affect the price so you can choose what fits within your allocated budget and requirements.

The most important three factors to consider when designing your glazed extension, is the glass specification and ventilation.

Windows and doors

Details such as window and door style, the number and position of the opening windows and doors, or the material and colour of the window boards can be chosen appropriately to fit your needs and your budget.

For example, french doors tend to cost less than sliding patio doors or bi-fold doors.

Don’t worry, our expert team are there to guide you with all these design decisions and ensure you stay within your budget.
