Design Your Glazed Extension
Do you have a dream home in mind, or perhaps a dream extension you would like to add to your existing property to turn it into that dream home you’ve always wanted? There are many ways you can design your glazed extension, and in this blog, we will be going through some examples of what we can create here at Hallmark Glazed extensions.

Modern Or Traditional Extension
Choosing between a modern or traditional style extension can come down to a few factors. For example, would a modern orangery match your property if it was an older building or a listed property?
It may be appropriate to match your new extension with the existing style of your property. However, with some properties, it may be refreshing to have a more modern twist on an older home.
It can also come down to personal taste, as a modern extension will look far different to a traditional one. Take a look at some of our existing examples to see what you may prefer.

What Materials Will It Feature?
Whether you opt for a modern or traditional extension, you’ll want to consider what materials or styles it will feature. For example, will you want it to be uPVC, hardwood or aluminium, and will you want it to be painted to match your colour scheme?
Will you want a wooden floor, or will you want it to be stone, concrete or even marble?
Also, consider how the materials will match the interior. If you are planning to have a kitchen extension, make sure that the cabinets, units and utilities all compliment the style you are going for in the room.

Orangery, Conservatory or Garden Room?
Three slightly different designs, all of which can enhance your living space in their own way.
It will come down to personal preference, budget, and the function you want the room to serve.
During a free design consultation, our designers will walk you through the differences between each so you have a good idea of how to move forward with your extension.

What Doors Will It Feature?
Here at Hallmark Glazed extensions, we have three popular door choices for our builds - French doors, bi-fold doors and sliding patio doors.
French doors are great if you want to stick to a more traditional style, but if you want a design which is more modern then bi-fold or sliding patio doors could be a better option.
The latter two options also allow your extension to open up wide to your garden, letting the outside in and creating one seamless living space.
